Dixons Cottingley Academy

Dixons Cottingley Academy will close for the Christmas Holidays from 12:30pm on Friday 19th December 2025, and we return on Monday 5th January 2026.

Student recognition

At DCO we are committed to rewarding excellence, and meeting the high standards that we expect of our students.

Our aims within student recognition are:

  • To reward students who consistently meet school expectations

  • To reward students who go above and beyond expectation

  • Acknowledgement of success and demonstrating our academy values of determination, integrity and trust

We call this recognition our Thrive system. By giving Thrive points, all of our staff can recognise excellence, this means that not just the students' classroom teacher is recognising our outstanding students, but all adults in the building.
