Our academy day
The table below summarises the academy day for all year groups.
Please note:
- All students must arrive at the academy by 8.15am ready for the start time of 8.20am.
- All students begin their day with Morning Meeting, which includes: retrieval practice (focused on critical knowledge); literacy and numeracy development; strengthening of school culture, value expectations reset; and appreciations / recognition.
- Our academy day finishes at 3.25pm Monday-Wednesday, and 2:30pm on Thursday & Friday.
- Students have 28 teaching periods of 55 minute lessons per week. Morning meeting lasts 20 minutes, and DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) is 30 minutes. This equates to 1540 minutes of lesson time per week, around 25.6 hours.
- The school reception is open from 8am-5pm Monday-Thursday, and 8am-4pm on Friday. This equates to 44 hours per week.
- For all students same day corrections (detentions of up to 90 Minutes) start at 3.25pm, or 2:30pm on a Thursday/Friday.
