Jo Seng

Assistant Principal - Curriculum Development

Jo grew up in Bradford, attending St Joseph's College for her GCSEs and Bingley Grammar School for A levels in Maths and Further Maths. After that she spent a number of years working and travelling around India, South America and South East Asia. She attended University of Leeds to study International Development and South East Asian studies, and while there started volunteering for an educational charity which worked with schools across Leeds.

It was while helping to deliver a workshop in a school she saw the level of mathematical skills of some young people and decided to train to be a maths teacher. She started at Samuel Lister (now Dixons Cottingley Academy) in her second year as a teacher, and worked hard become Head of Maths and now holds the role of Assistant Principal for Curriculum at Dixons Cottingley Academy.
