Andrew Sutcliffe

Trust Assistant Principal - Director of Sport

Andrew is deeply committed to transforming young people’s lives through the power of sport. A proud Yorkshireman, he began his journey in education after graduating from Liverpool John Moores University in 2004. Since then, he has dedicated his career to teaching and leading in West Yorkshire.

Starting out as a School Sports Coordinator within the Bradford School Sports Partnership, Andrew quickly established himself as a passionate advocate for student development. Over the years, he has taken on a range of leadership roles gaining valuable experience in both pastoral care and academic progress.

In 2020, Andrew joined Dixons as Head of PE, drawn to our trust's mission to challenge social disadvantage across the North. His values aligned perfectly with Dixons’ commitment to equity and excellence, and he has consistently demonstrated a transformational impact on school culture and student outcomes.

Appointed Director of Sport in 2023, Andrew now leads sport across our trust, sharing his breadth of experience and strategic vision. A key part of his role involves overseeing the Dixons Cup, a vibrant inter-academy competition that celebrates achievement in sport and across the curriculum. The Dixons Cup competition has become a cornerstone of community and pride within our trust.

Andrew is resolute in his goal to inspire a lifelong passion for health and physical activity in every student. He believes sport is a powerful tool for inclusion, confidence, and character and works tirelessly to ensure all students have the opportunity to thrive.
