Year 7 intake in September 2020
Applications to the Academy should be made via the local authority / council CAF (Common Application Form). You will need to name the Academy as one of your school preferences on that form.
If you are applying for a place at Dixons Cottingley Academy under the 'Exceptional medical or social need' or 'Children of staff' oversubscription criteria, please follow the instructions in the guidance document which is available as a downloadable document at the bottom of this page.
Places will be filled in line with the oversubscription criteria outlined in our Admissions and Appeals Policy (see Downloads section below). Please note that the Policy relates only to the admission year stated on the document and is subject to change in future years.
More information about the secondary school application process is available here from September: https://www.bradford.gov.uk/ed... Further information about the Academy can be found on this website or by contacting us via:
The open event for 2020 admissions will take place on Wednesday 18th September 2019. Arrival is 5pm to 7pm. Presentations will take place at 5.30pm and 7.00pm.
In-Year Applications (Years 7 to 11)
If you wish to apply for a place for your child at Dixons Cottingley mid-year, applications should be made through the Bradford Admissions team.
To apply, you will need to complete an In-Year Common Application Form (ICAF) for the local authority in order to be eligible for a place if a vacancy occurs. The In-Year form and more information about the process is available from www.bradford.gov.uk/education-... or you can request for a form to be sent to you by e-mailing: firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephoning 01274 439200.
If a vacancy does occur, we will look at the local authority waiting list and prioritise children in accordance with the oversubscription criteria (see Admissions and Appeals Policy in the Downloads section below).
