COVID-19 Update

Update, Thursday 31 December 2020
Dear Families
Start of term arrangements and online learning
I hope you and your families have had an enjoyable break. Yesterday, as you may be aware, the government announced a further change to the arrangements for the start of the January term for secondary students, in all schools, following the rise in the national Covid-19 infection rate. Once again, we can only apologise for the late notification of these changes.
The government announced that it is their intention that all examination students - Year 11 will now return to school from Monday 11 January instead of Tuesday 5 January as we had originally anticipated. In addition, students in all other year groups are now expected to return to school from Monday 18 January. During this period of time, we will continue to support all our students to access home learning. Please see below our academy’s arrangements for remote learning during the first two weeks of term, commencing Tuesday 5 January.
All work will be now be set using Microsoft Teams whilst students are working from home. Between Tuesday 5 January and Friday 15 January 2021 assignments will be uploaded for students to access and submit online. Students should follow their normal timetable and students will have work set to cover all their lessons. You can access further information on how to use Microsoft Teams by visiting our website.
Coronavirus Updates and Home Learning
We continue to be grateful for the support that our families provide and we appreciate your understanding in respect of the changes being communicated to you today.
As always, we will endeavour to do everything we can to support you and your child and if you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact the academy by emailing: info@dixonsco.com
Yours sincerely
Jason Patterson
Principal
